Interactive Posters

We live in a world where technologies enrich and profoundly impact the lives of people and societies globally.

Girls in Year 6 engaged in discussions about the challenges we encounter every day. Many of these challenges have a significant impact on their lives and the lives of others. The girls selected specific areas to study where technology has had a positive impact. Some of the topics they chose included making everyday activities easier, online safety, healthy living, cultural awareness and inclusion, supporting an aging population, raising awareness of social justice issues, transportation, reducing organic waste, and promoting a sustainable future.

The girls explored and experimented with Makey Makey, using it to play a banana piano, engage in a soccer game, and participate in other activities on the Makey Makey website. They utilized Scratch to code and document their research on the technologies they had investigated.

The girls designed posters featuring images of the technologies they had researched. Using conductive tape, they connected their computers with a Makey Makey to create interactive posters.

Many staff members enjoyed the experience of interacting with the posters. Its rewarding for the girls to have authentic audiences 🙂
