A great way to be inspired by others is to meet and talk. STEMies Club students started the year with an inspirational presentation from Dr James Fielding, CEO and co-founder of Audeara Headphones__world’s first audio-perfecting headphones with a built-in hearing test.
Dr Feilding spoke about his journey in developing the headphones from the need he saw as a doctor and as a musician. Using Kickstarter with colleagues, James explained to the girls his desire and passion to make it possible. He provided the girls with the opportunity of using the headphones which are unique for having a hearing test inbuilt which allows you to hear sound perfectly through the headphones as they adjust to your specific hearing needs.
“Everyone hears differently, so Audeara tailors the sound to be perfect for you, now and always,” Dr Fielding
Girls were able to ask plenty of questions and to consider the issues and challenges which Dr Fielding encountered on his journey.
The presentation has given the students plenty to think about and a springboard to research, investigate, ideate, prototype, test and evaluate a project this term.
