New Ventures!

After retiring from teaching, after 47 years, I couldn’t walk away! I have been fortunate to continue working with the incredible staff and students at St Aidan’s with Robotics and STEM Competition Club and TechMate sessions.

I was also invited to join the STEM Punks team to enjoy some workshops inspiring young students into STEM activities. The following piece was on Linkedn and I thought I’d share it….

We are thrilled to welcome Jackie Child to the STEM Punks family! Jackie brings a wealth of experience and expertise in STEM education, making her a highly valuable addition to our mission of inspiring tomorrow’s innovators.

With her extensive background in Maker Space development and hands-on STEM Pedagogy, Jackie is set to enhance our development and delivery of immersive and impactful STEM programs. To quote Jackie, ‘Learning never stops, and seeing a challenge or a problem to solve allows my ‘tinkering’, ‘fixing’ and ‘making’ to kick in.’

Jackie’s dedication to fostering a love of learning and creativity in students aligns perfectly with our vision for the future of education. We also love Jackie’s passion for ‘Girls in STEM’, and she will undoubtedly inspire both our team and the young minds we aim to empower. Welcome aboard, Jackie! We are excited to see your positive impact on our community.

I was warmed by the welcome and overwhelmed by the number and beautiful responses and comments.

So, as a life-long learner my journey continues…..
