Drones, Droids and Robots.

This year’s Science Week theme was ‘Drones, Droids and Robots’ and of course, our Library Makerspace activities were happy to be part of the Science Expo!DDR

We love our new sign and managed to display it on a post!IMG_9596

We set up different stations to be enjoyed by students and parents. iPads were used to program our Mini Parrot Drones and BB8. R2-D2 was navigated by remote control to wonder around the Expo with lots of screams of delight! Our NXT Mindstorms were programmed to dance to a song about unicorns and others to do gymnastic moves.

The Gyrobot balanced beautifully across the passage!

Many students enjoyed making music with cardboard, aluminium foil, and bananas to play a keyboard and bongo drums with the Makey Makey!

Little Bits and Squishy Dough were also a bit hit with both parents and students. Our Makerspace in the Science Expo proved to be very successful with the activities falling under the STEM umbrella
