Mornings in our Makerspace

Dad playing

As the cooler weather slowly comes more girls and parents are enjoying the many pieces of equipment and materials we have available. One father thoroughly loves playing with our electric blocks while his daughter challenges herself in an app on an iPad!

StrandbeestWe are looking for a small fan to assist the Strandbeest to walk….we puffed and puffed to make him walk! It was a tricky assembly, but the student persisted and persevered until it worked, I was so proud of her persistence!

3D pen2The 3D pen has been a huge hit with the girls, they love creating bracelets, nicknacks and even made me ‘Library’! One student successfully made a ring to wear.

3D library word

Our 3D printer is popular and we are hoping to design more artifacts to print, so far we have printed pre-designed vases, bots and unicorns. We used 3D Creationist to design a Christmas tree….I know its too early but we needed 3d solid shapes…… so cones fit the bill perfectly!

card4runThe girls have just started to create a marble run on a large wall. They are thoroughly enjoying the challenge…so more to come as they progress…..

The other exciting item is our new Rolling Spider MiniDrone! The girls will be challenging themselves to navigate around the library using the Tickle app.
